Milk Allergy Gone

My daughter has lost her milk allergy!

She has tolerated milk in baked goods, cheese, and hidden milk in products. She is still on a low milk diet, compared to most people, but she has had no issues. Her mild food intolerances are also gone. She even reacted less to mosquito bites, this summer.

I will be blogging less here at Avoiding Milk Blog, though I am still passionate about food allergy issues. Avoiding Milk Protein will remain up, as well as my other blogs that are not about food allergies.

It has been wonderful going places with out worrying or planning as much. I still see allergy issues in everyday life. As some readers may know I grew up with multiple food allergies and intollerences, that I to have outgrown.

I have made on line contacts and friends in the allergy community, that have provided information as well as interesting conversations, where else can you talk about buttons made from milk, or paint made from milk.

Congrats Karen! It must be nice as a mom not to have to worry.

I am beyond happy for you and your child! I am also quite envious. This gives us hope - to see real people outgowing the allergies. How old is your child just out of curiousity? (Maybe that is too personal - just wondered).

CONGRATS to you and your child!!

Good news!

My younger son outgrew his dairy allergy as well just after turning five last fall upon entering kindergarten. But my older son at age seven still has his dairy allergy. He is kind of mad about his younger brother outgrowing it first. But I try to explain how to be happy for him...at least my older son's skin prick results have gone from "off the scale" at age two to about a two on a scale of one to five at age seven. Hopeful.

Congrats Karen, I am really happy for you and your family. This gives me hope for my own daughter. She's getting retested in two weeks to see if she outgrew her allergies as well; keeping my fingers crossed.

My child outgrew her allergy just before her 11th Bday. I outgrew most of my allergies at 14. I formed a new allergy after my first child was born. I then out grew that one, after having my second child. Hormonal changes seam to effect my allergies.
